Stewardship 2026
Forward Together in Service
Dear Member of the St. James’s Community,
Over the years, St. James’s has been blessed with many who were powerful in service. We remember with gratitude our early forebears such as Mary Longfellow Greenleaf, who supported the church and also cared for the poor, and those of our time like Tom Tufts, who served in St. James’s leadership and also tirelessly served the prison ministry. We name in our hearts the ones we know who call and visit their friends, who keep up the ties of community, who quietly organize help when it’s needed.
Look at our new parish house and garden, and the renewed St. James’s sanctuary — how many hours of patient work brought us here, how many skills and talents! Each week in this space, ushers, musicians, readers, welcomers, dedicated members of the Altar Guild all serve. Out from this space go ministries, formal and informal, to the hungry, the unhoused, those passing through Cambridge on their lives’ journeys.
If you in your turn feel a calling to service, something familiar or something newly imagined, this may be the time and place for you.
Your generosity makes possible all we do together. Please consider what you can give in the coming year and make a pledge, and please consider whether one of our ministries might be right for your time and talents. You can use the enclosed pledge form for your 2026 pledge or go online to www.stjamescambridge.org and click on “Pledge Here.”
Please use the pledge form below by November 23, 2025, for your 2026 pledge.
Together in service,
The Stewardship Committee
